BIO-CAT and BIO-CAT Microbials are both individually registered as food facilities with the FDA. Section 415(a)(3) of the FD&C Act, as amended by section 102 of FSMA, requires a food facility to renew its registration with the FDA every other year. The renewal process changed slightly in 2020 in that a unique facility identifier (UFI) recognized as acceptable by the FDA had to be included in the application. The UFI will be used to verify that the facility specific address associated with the UFI is the same address associated with the facility’s registration.
